Core Competencies: Less is More!

Are you looking for creative ways to incorporate core competencies into your practice? Enable students to build ownership of, reflect on and assess their core competencies over time? This workshop will provide a framework for understanding and embedding the language of core competencies in fun and engaging ways. Self-assessment examples will be shared to assist with the communication of student learning.

    Shane and Holly are middle school teachers in SD43.  Shane works at Scott Creek and Holly is at Moody Middle.  They have been experimenting with core competencies for a couple of years, sharing ideas and trying new strategies to create meaningful learning opportunities for students.
